Norskye Bothy
2 Guests | 1 Bedroom | 1 Bed | 1 Bathroom
Norskye Bothy is a Scandi-Scot hideaway for two: an architecturally designed eco cabin on a working croft near Portree.
Quiet and carefully considered, it sits on land that is being given back to nature, with a young native woodland and a kitchen garden taking root around it. It is a place for slowing down, with the island’s best-known landscapes within easy reach.
Norskye Bothy is built around its view. Picture windows look out over moorland, mountain and loch, and a sliding door opens straight onto a patio area with outdoor seating.Kitchen, dining and living areas share one open room, warmed by a Morso wood-burning stove, with logs included. The bedroom is separate, with a king-size bed, luxury bedding, a large built-in wardrobe and a picture window of its own: think coffee in bed, with the open hill and croft beyond the glass. The shower room has a waterfall drench shower with a separate handset and a heated towel rail, and the kitchen comes stocked with freshly ground coffee from Corran Coffee Roasters on Skye. For those arriving by electric car, a 7kW Type 2 charge point is on site, available by arrangement.
Norskye Bothy sits on a working croft five miles from Portree, on land that is slowly being given back to nature. In spring 2026, 500 native trees were planted by hand to form a small woodland, with the aim of drawing in birds, insects and plants and restoring degraded ground, with a kitchen garden of fruit bushes, herbs and vegetables taking shape alongside. From here the island fans out. To the north, the Trotternish peninsula runs from the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing to Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls. To the west lie Dunvegan Castle, Coral Beach and the lighthouse at Neist Point, and to the south, the Cuillins, Glen Brittle and the Fairy Pools. Check out our Locations page and its tailored map to help you plan your visit.Whatever the day holds, the croft is a quiet place to come back to.
"I think this was our favourite place we stayed during our trip. Absolutely stunning location. It was so serene and peaceful - just what you’re hoping for on Skye. Also, the inside of the Bothy was almost as gorgeous as the scenery. I don't know how the owners did it, but this place is magnificently designed. I would live here permanently. If you’re staying on Skye, stay here!"Crystal, Oct 2026"Wonderful place in Isle of Skye. Loved all the big windows for landscape views. Close enough to everything you want to go see & do. Very clean & responsive hosts."Addy, Sep 2026I can't say enough great things about the accommodation. Amazing location, views and surrounds - watching the sheep and rabbits from the living room was a highlight. Sustainably designed with an amazing fitout. The accommodation had everything we needed and we will definitely be back!Tim, May 2024
